Our ongoing commitment to the protection of your privacy is essential to maintaining the relationship of trust that existsbetween BFLIC and all users of www.BFLIC.com (the "BFLIC Website"), whether they be agents, policyholders,employees, employers, providers, or other visitors to the BFLIC Website. This BFLIC Website privacy policy (the"Privacy Policy") is intended to help you understand our security practices generally and our online information security practices in particular.
If you are a customer of ours, you may have already received the privacy statement that describes BFLIC’s practices and procedures regarding privacy. This Privacy Policy supplements BFLIC’s general privacy statement by describing our practices and procedures relating to the information that we collect or that is made available through this website. All information collected from this website and BFLIC in general is subject to the applicable privacy laws and regulations and will be handled according to BFLIC’s general privacy statement and this Privacy Policy.
Congress passed the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ("GLB") which deals, in part, with how insurance companies treat nonpublic personal information. In our security practices generally, BFLIC strictly follows Georgia’s privacy law, which is, in most respects, more comprehensive and more stringent than the GLB standards.
In viewing and using the BFLIC Website, you understand that BFLIC, as an insurance company, obtains certain “nonpublic personally identifiable information” about you (“Personally Identifiable Information”). This Personally Identifiable Information includes information we receive from you on on-line applications for insurance or other forms, information about your transactions with us and information we may have received from a consumer reporting agency. BFLIC may use certain of your Personally Identifiable Information subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
BFLIC protects your Personally Identifiable Information by:

Consistent with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, our standard authorizations permit us to share this information with our affiliates.
You do not need to call, or do anything as a result of this Privacy Policy. It is meant to advise how we safeguard your Personally Identifiable Information. You may wish to file a copy of this Privacy Policy with your insurance papers. We make every effort to protect your Personally Identifiable Information and only use it as was intended by you and as allowed by law.
HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Privacy Rule allows members the right to receive a notice that describes how individual health information may be used and/or disclosed and how to acquire access to this information. BFLIC is fully committed to its ompliance with the Privacy Rule of HIPAA in safeguarding sensitive, Personal Identifiable Information about insureds, including identifiable health care and demographic data.
BFLIC is federally mandated to send a notice (Notice of Privacy Practices) to its insureds. You should be aware that your state law may afford additional access and amendment rights to you which differ from those granted by HIPAA. If you would like additional information concerning the collection and disclosure of protected health information and your rights under state law to access and amend such information, it will be furnished upon request. The Information We Collect through the BFLIC Website
Certain of the information provided by BFLIC on the BFLIC Website is available without BFLIC collecting any Personally Identifiable Information from you. However, BFLIC does collect Personally Identifiable Information that you provide voluntarily or in the course of using the BFLIC Website. In order to retrieve or submit any information through the BFLIC Website, individuals must be affiliated with BFLIC as an agent, policyholder, employee, customer, provider, or otherwise have an account with BFLIC.
By submitting Personally Identifiable Information through the BFLIC Website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you expressly consent to the processing of your Personally Identifiable Information according to this Privacy Policy, and you agree to the BFLIC Terms and Conditions of Use provided on the BFLIC Website (the "Terms and Conditions of Service").
The Personally Identifiable Information you submit to us through the BFLIC Website may be processed by us in the country where it was collected as well as other countries (including the United States) where laws regarding the processing of Personally Identifiable Information may be less stringent than the laws in your country.

We do not sell, rent or trade any of the e-mail addresses that might be provided through the BFLIC Website to outside parties. Cookies, Web Beacons, Clear Gifs, and IP Addresses
BFLIC may also use a feature of your browser called a “cookie.” Your cookie automatically identifies your computer - but not you - to our servers when you visit the BFLIC Website and allows us to correlate your computer with certain usage patterns which are stored in our log files. We may use cookies to gather general, aggregate statistics about the overall popularity and usage of the BFLIC Website. Clear gifs may also see or read cookies on your computer. When authorized by BFLIC, third parties specializing in monitoring aggregate statistical use of the BFLIC Website with whom we contract, may use cookies, our web log files, web beacons, and other monitoring technologies to compile anonymous aggregate data.
